Bearers of the Name Press
We publish books about people with disabilities. We also help readers discover books beyond our own list.
Our books, and the wider collection
Our first title is He Feeds Dinosaurs, a memoir by Daniel and Kristan Dow. It has its own home under Our Books. The Other Books collection brings together titles from other authors and publishers, with direct links to their Amazon listings.
How we choose books
We look for books in which disability is a meaningful part of the story or subject. Our shelves include disabled people’s own accounts, family perspectives, children’s stories, practical guides, and disability culture and advocacy. No single book can represent every disabled person or family.
Each listing includes a short, original description, topic notes, an intended audience, and a link to publisher information. These are reading guides based on published descriptions, not personal reviews of every book. Inclusion does not mean that we agree with every argument or approach in a title.
We do not copy Amazon customer reviews, display star ratings, or promise current prices. Amazon provides the available editions, seller details, delivery options, and checkout. Our own publication is clearly labeled as ours.
